International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Gentile Mutilation

The commemoration, which was organized by the Office of Women and Children's Affairs, was attended by selected women from the 20 districts of Jigjiga city, intellectuals, scholars and top executive leaders of bureau of Women and Children's Office.
During the commemoration, the problems of Female Gentile Mutilation were presented and how its end would be turned around. The commemoration is celebrated worldwide for the 112th time while in our country it is celebrated for the 47th time.
Speaking at the commemoration, Mrs. Shur Hasan, the director of the Gender mainstream Department of the Office of Women and Children's Affairs , said that there is a need to turn around the female genital mutilation , in order to protect the health of girls.
